UPDATE: Arrests have been made in this case. See the full press release by following the link:
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating 7 commercial burglaries that have occurred in the last week in unincorporated areas around Wray, Laird and Idalia. The burglaries that have occurred in the county are believed to be connected to burglaries that have occurred within the city limits of Wray. Up to this point, although significant investigatory efforts have been made, little has been released formally on the cases due to the continued pursuit of leads that might have been jeopardized by a public press release.
The Sheriff’s Office has been working in partnership with the Wray Police Department to investigate these cases and identify a suspect(s). Deputies and Officers have identified evidence on each of the scenes that indicate the burglaries are being committed by the same suspect or suspects. Cash has been the primary target in most of the burglaries along with some computers, firearms, and ammunition.
All of the burglaries have generally occurred between 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM, a time of the night which the Sheriff’s Office does not have adequate patrol staff to have a deputy on duty. In an effort to apprehend the suspect(s), deputies have been pulled away from their usual schedules in order to provide coverage during the timeframe we believe these crimes are occurring and patrol the county with an emphasis on hotspot areas around Wray, Laird and Idalia.
If you have any information about any of these cases, or can identify the suspects in the photos please call the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 332-4805, message us on Facebook, or submit a crime tip on our website.
