Deputy Fell, presented with an award by Colorado Cattleman’s Association Brand & Theft Committee Board Member Colby Mick
Sheriff Day is happy to announce that Deputy CJ Fell was awarded the Law Officer of the Year award for 2015 from the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association Tuesday night (19th). This award is presented to the officer in the state who has “displayed exemplary performance in assisting Colorado ranchers with protecting their livestock.”
Deputy Fell has been with the Sheriff’s Office for two years. In that time, he has taken on several peripheral duties. He is a firearms instructor, an active shooter instructor, a certified VIN inspector, and he and local brand inspector Matt Linmann have spearheaded an effort to educate local farmers and ranchers on how to best protect their livestock and property. His efforts have been received quite well.
CJ and his family were the guests of CCA at their Mid-Winter Banquet where he was presented with the award.
Sheriff Day commented, “I’m proud of how CJ has exemplified working with other agencies to make our community safer and more secure. The agency is proud that he’s being recognized by such a well-regarded organization as the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association with this award.”
