VIN Inspections
Please be prepared with a title and bill of sale prior to requesting a VIN inspection. Most VIN inspections are a standard VIIN inspection, however, in some cases, you may be required to receive a certified VIN inspection. Standard VIN Inspections
Walk-Ins: We conduct walk-in VIN inspections on vehicles and/or trailers Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This service is free of charge and is subject to the availability of a staff member to conduct the inspection.
On-Location: Standard VIN inspections that need to be conducted on-location (anywhere other than at the Sheriff’s Office) are scheduled and conducted by availability. There is a $10 fee, payable in advance, for on-location VIN inspections. Please call the office at (970) 332-4805 to request and on-location VIN inspection.
Certified VIN Inspections
Walk-Ins: Certified VIN inspections are conducted on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at the Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. There is a $50 fee, payable at the time of the inspection for this service.
On-Location: Certified VIN inspections that need to be conducted on-location (anywhere other than at the Sheriff’s Office) are scheduled and conducted by availability.
