Stolen Property and Drugs Recovered

 On Wednesday, February 1st, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Colorado State Patrol and Logan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an un-addressed location in the area of Yuma County Road 54 and Highway 385.  A camper trailer had been set up in a pasture there next to a stock well with power.

 Stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.  Also found during the search, was a variety of suspected illicit drugs including methamphetamine, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and an unknown substance that will need to be identified by a crime lab.

 The resident of the camper, Van Wayne Wisdom (DOB 5/30/61) was contacted in a vehicle a few miles from the location where he was taken into custody without incident.

Wisdom was booked into the Yuma County Jail on the charges of Theft (Felony 4), Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Felony 4), Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (Felony 6), and two class 2 Petty Offenses for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
