Francisco Villa Archuleta
In February of this year the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office brought Francisco Villa Archuleta back to Yuma County in response to a warrant for his arrest on multiple felony charges. The original case, filed by the Yuma Police Department in May of 2015, involved the alleged sexual assault of a young boy.
As the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office and its partners at the US Marshal’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force began to narrow in on Archuleta’s whereabouts in Los Angeles, he was coincidentally arrested in connection to an arson being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department. Archuleta was returned to Yuma County after completing his sentence in California.
On Monday, June 6, 2016 Archuleta accepted a plea agreement offered to him by the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Archuleta plead guilty to 1st Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child. Archuleta was sentenced to serve 20 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
